Workers’ Rights

The Communist Alliance supports workers and their unions in Australia and internationally in their struggles against the rapacious greed of the employers.

We reject any political approach that places the blame on workers for the many crises that affect our society. These include crises in the economy, the environment, and crises of food and water shortages.

We oppose employer calls for cuts in wages and hours and we oppose attacks on the rights and conditions of workers. We believe that workers should be rewarded properly for their labour. The labour of workers creates the wealth within our society.

We note with dismay that the great wealth created by working class people is so rarely enjoyed by them but instead ends up in the hands of a small per cent of capitalists who benefit from the work of the many.

The Communist Alliance believes in a better society where wealth is distributed to those who perform the work, not those who have the money.

We fight for industrial relations laws that give workers a decent chance of challenging the employers in their drive for greater profit which they refuse to share and have no obligation to share under this capitalist system of production.

We stand for a new industrial relations system. We pledge to fight in Parliament for the complete reversal of all anti-union anti-worker laws regardless of the party putting them forward.

We believe workers should have the right to strike, the right to be in a union, and the right to political expression.

We are for a new type of politics, one where workers and the people are put first and are not regarded as just commodities to be used up in the pursuit of profit for the few.

Your vote will give support to candidates who advocate these views and will fight for them without fear.
