Candidate Profiler

Geoff Lawler is a prominent official of the Trade Union movement in and around the Wagga Wagga district and much of Southern NSW. He was for many years the secretary of Unions Riverina relinquishing this post in 2009. 2010 brings up Geoff’s 25th year as the Riverina regional organiser for LHMU. Geoff’s major contribution to his community in his spare time is as head boxing coach at the Wagga Wagga PCYC (Police, Community, Youth Club).

Brenda Kellaway has fought for ordinary Australians for over three decades and also completed her degree whilst being a single mum. She is a teacher based in the Hunter.

Denis Doherty is a former school teacher with extensive experience in many schools across Australia. He has been an activist member of his teachers’ union and has a keen interest in and knowledge of education. He is a prominent member of the peace movement in Sydney organizing and coordinating many marches and rallies for peace. Denis is well known in his community for his community building work and his advocacy for justice.
